Sermon Notes- 4/2/2023- Bruce McLarty- At the Feet of Jesus

Welcome to Central Church of Christ, a people who strive to Share God’s Love, Tell God’s Story, and Be God’s Family.

Luke 10:38-42

Where does this Sunday find us?

At the Feet of Jesus:

Mark 5:22-23- Then came one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name, and seeing him, he fell at his feet and implored him earnestly saying, “My little daughter is at the point of death. Come and lay your hands on her, so that she may be made well and live.”

Mark 7:25-26- Immediately a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit heard of him and came and fell down at his feet. Now the woman was a Gentile, a Syrophoenician by birth. And she begged him to cast the demon out of her daughter.

Luke 7:37-38- A woman of the city, who was a sinner . . . brought an alabaster flask of ointment, and standing behind at his feet, weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head and kissed his feet and anointed them with ointment.

Luke 8:28-38- When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell down before him and said with a loud voice, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, do not torment me.” …”When the herdsmen saw what had happened, and they came to Jesus and found the man from whom the demons had gone, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind, and they were afraid”

Luke 17:15-16- Then one of them (Lepers), when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; and he fell on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks.

Matthew 15:30-31- Great crowds came to him, bringing with them the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute, and many others, and they put them at his feet, and he healed them . . . And they glorified the God of Israel.

Matthew 28:8-9- So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. And behold, Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped him.

What is OUR story from OUR time spent at the feet of Jesus?

Ian Maclaren- “Y ‘ill say what richt, nae doot o’ that, and a ‘body ‘ill be pleased wi’ ye, but oh, laddie, be sure ye say a gude word for Jesus Christ.”

In its essence, evangelism is sharing a God-touched piece of one’s own soul, sharing our own experience at
the feet of Jesus.
