Gospel Presentation from Romans
Our greatest problem is sin.
- Romans 3:10; 6:23
-
- 10 as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one;
- 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
-
God’s plan for our salvation is found in Christ.
- Romans 3:24; 5:1
-
- 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
- 1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
-
Jesus paid the debt of sin for everyone.
- Romans 3:24-25
-
- 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith.
-
By obedience, we receive His gift of salvation.
- Romans 4:2-8
-
- 2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. 3 For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness.” 4 Now to the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due. 5 And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness, 6 just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works: 7 “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; 8 blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin.”
-
We cannot create our own plan for salvation.
- Romans 5:6
-
- 6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
-
Our obedient faith leads us to be baptized “into Christ”.
- Romans 6:3-6
-
- 3 Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. 6 We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.
-
Our new life seeks to be faithful and obey God’s will.
- Romans 6:8-14
-
- 8 Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. 10 For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. 11 So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions. 13 Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness. 14 For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.
-
Are you ready to obey the Lord and express thanks to Him?
- Romans 1:16
-
- 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
